About Me
My name is Covey Barbee and I'm from Wharton, Texas.
Born and raised in Wharton, Texas. I received my BA in History in 2008 and an MA in History in 2013, both from Sam Houston State University. I returned home to Wharton to be closer to my aging family and began working for Wharton ISD in 2014. Since then, I have held several different positions at Wharton High School, but eventually, I became the Social Studies Department Chair. In addition to supervising the courses in my department, I have personally taught AP Human Geography, World Geography, US History, Special Topics in History, and Financial Literacy.
Beyond the conventional US History curriculum, I also have the privilege to provide the instruction of Dual Credit US History courses at Wharton High School for Wharton County Junior College.

Coffee - A cup Café Bustelo or Black Rifle Coffee Company "Tacsquatch" fuels my passion for knowledge.
Soda- Coca-Cola provides that perfect fizzy refreshment (just don't tell my doctor because I'm supposed to quit).
Food- Tex-Mex cuisine never fails to delight my taste buds.
Leisure- I find solace and connection with my family during camping trips in our pop-up camper.
